Christmas carols on the piano
In Soitilo a child plays Christmas songs on the piano, one key at a time. This page lists the Christmas melodies a child sees without an adult’s switch: children’s songs, folk songs and a classical melody.
Only melodies whose copyright has expired are included. The app shows the names and melodies, not the lyrics.
Start with the basics and Chapter 1 at no cost. Optional subscriptions open more learning and songs. The iPhone and iPad version is coming soon to the App Store.

Hymns are a separate choice
With an adult’s switch a child can also play the Christmas hymns of the song books. They are not in this list. They stay on their own shelves.
The choice stays on this device. Nothing is kept on the server from which a family’s conviction could be inferred.
Why is a carol missing?
Soitilo only includes melodies whose copyright has expired: traditional tunes, old tunes by unknown composers, and tunes whose composer died more than 70 years ago. The source and rights of every melody are checked one by one.
That is why newer Christmas songs are not here. We add songs as their rights are checked. The app shows the names and melodies of songs, not lyrics.
When do the songs open?
A song opens once the learning path has taught the skills it needs. The free library songs open for everyone after Chapter 1, and a subscription opens every song.
