Skills in plain language

The family can share the learner’s progress with you. You can view it in a web browser.

The teacher view shows named skills and whether the child played independently or with help. You and the family can use this information to discuss practice.

Know what is in the current path

Soitilo begins with finding notes on the keyboard, hearing whether notes move up or down, steady beat, rhythm and reading notes.

The current chapters start with the right hand on white keys, then introduce black keys, sharps and flats, three beats in a bar and the left hand. Each playing task starts with self-paced practice before playing with accompaniment.

Three ways to take part

Learners can use the on-screen keyboard, a USB MIDI keyboard on a compatible device, or an acoustic or digital piano through the microphone. Microphone sound stays on the device.

The parent chooses whether to share progress with you. The family’s account remains with an adult.

Try the free chapters before discussing them with a family

The basics and Chapter 1, with their songs, are free for up to three learners, with all three ways to play and full help and hints. Also free: the free library songs, My melody, free play, a second adult and sharing progress with a teacher. Adult beginners can learn with Soitilo too.
